If you didn’t know I was out of the country last week. I left on Saturday April 11 and landed back in Texas on Monday April 20. I went on a mission trip with my church Pantego Bible to Nairobi, Kenya. We were in charge of childcare at an SIM (Serving in Mission) missionary conference. I actually grew up in Nairobi, so it was really good to go back to my second home. I had an amazing time seeing my old high school, reuniting with former teachers and coaches that I hadn’t seen in years. The conference was at Brackenhurst Conference Center where I have spent many hours when I was growing up. I feel like God used me in a mighty way with the teenagers that I was in contact with the most during the mission conference. I spent one of the mornings telling them what it was like for me moving back to the States as a MK (missionary kid). There are challenges and struggles being an MK, different challenges than other kids have to deal with. I encouraged the teens in that these challenges are normal for all MKs, and they are going to make it in the world.
God is a good God, and He chooses to use us in His plans even though He is more than capable of carrying them out without us. For those of you who knew I was going on this mission trip and had me in your prayers, thank you so very much. God answered your prayers. He kept my team and me safe throughout our entire trip, and protected us from all harm. He also gave me the courage and strength and the words to say to the teenagers as well as the children in my lessons to them. I felt peace during my talks with them and God brought things to my mind that I hadn’t planned on saying. His will was done on this trip. Thank you all for your prayers and interest in our trip.
